This past season, I came in first in my age group in the Escape from Alcatraz, fourth in nationals in my age group and qualified for the world championships in 2017. Her coaching works. Amy is a dedicated, trustworthy and knowledgeable coach. Prior to 2 years ago I didn’t really know much about the sport, except for the obvious, you swim, you bike, you run. Having never participated in the sport, I wanted to see what I was capable of, if I had the proper coaching and program. After researching Amy on her website and meeting with her I knew I found the person who could help me meet my goals. Since working with Amy I have placed in the top spots of ALL my races. I went from a weekend warrior to serious athlete. I have drastically improved my run time and bike time, all in just 2 short years. I love how she tailor’s workouts to fit my busy schedule and is quick to respond when I have questions. I take her advice seriously and follow her training plans. As I like to say, “Amy is the boss of me.” Her expert coaching is enabling me to compete in the world championship. I would recommend her as a coach to anyone.
Amy Rice is a fantastic coach. She has brought out the best in me and pushed me to succeed. With her help I have managed to PR nearly every race for 3 years straight. Every race I get faster and feel better and I know I have her to thank for this. Her approach to training just plain works. I started on this journey in 2014 when I asked her to help me go from triathlon newbie to Ironman. At the time I signed up with her I was not a very good swimmer and knew I had lots of work to do. Thru a combination of her training plan and skills clinics I was able to prepare and actually swim in the middle of the pack for my first Ironman. I have come a long way since that first year under the watchful tutelage of Amy. I am now a 5 time Ironman and a Silver Ironman All World Athlete and Amy has helped me accomplish all of it. I have PR’s beyond my wildest imaginations at almost all distances and owe it all to my coach and friend Amy Rice.
I met Coach Amy Rice 3 years ago new to the sport of triathlon and having a goal to finish my first Ironman … I didn’t know much about swimming nor did I know how to swim to save my life … Amy taught me to swim with confidence and I was able to finish my FIRST IRONMAN.. since then she has helped me achieve many of my goals…. 5X Ironman Finisher…2X Boston Qualifier… Amy cares about her Athletes … The tough love and support she gives us makes us want to do our best while enjoying the sport we love … I personally want to make coach Amy proud of me and all my accomplishment … she inspires me to do my best
I love this pic! I look determined after that swim! LOL. This was the Timberman race 2016, in which I shaved off 31 minutes of my time setting a course PR for myself. Shaved off 1:30 in Swim, 9:30 mins on bike, and almost 20 mins in the run! Lots of off season training and guidance, coupled with some killer mid-season bike training rides helped to pave the way to my success. Looking forward to shaving another 30 mins off for this year!
I started training with Amy after several seasons of “training without purpose” and mediocre results. Within the first month of training, I had PRs in both my 5K and 1/2 marathon. At first you think “there is no way I can hit the intervals she is giving me!” But then you go out and do them and guess what? You hit them. And on it goes! Amy keeps you focused on the end result but remains flexible when the reality of daily life gets in the way. The group events with like-minded training partners keeps the workouts fresh and fun. It definitely makes sense to “train with a purpose” and have “fitness for life”!
After signing up for an full Ironman event and having only 4 months to train I knew I needed some help if I wanted to cross the finish line. A friend recommended Triathlon Training with Amy and I knew after our first meeting that I would be in great hands. Working around my week to week schedule Amy devised each workout to my ability and pushed me harder than I ever would have on my own, or even know I could. I completed that first Ironman in nearly an hour faster than my goal and since then I have gone on to PR in almost every race I have done since, whether it be a half marathon or any sprint, Olympic and 70.3 distance triathlons. The scheduling and analysis to fit your ability and push you beyond your limits is top quality and group swims, rides and runs are even more motivational. Triathlon Training with Amy is definitely an advantage in your corner for any race you decide to take on.
Coach Amy Rice demands exellence: “Perfect practice produces perfect performance.” If you are looking for a new approach to keep you moving on the path to success, you should give her depth of experience a try. Regardless of your multisport history or goals, she can help you get there.
I can’t say enough positive things about the coaching that Amy Rice provides. I am just your average, full-time working mom of 2 kids, ages 10 and 12. I started working with Amy in the spring of 2016 because I thought I wanted to train for what would most likely be my last half iron distance race (I had previously finished 3 and my times were slower with each race, which I found incredibly frustrating!). Amy provides such personalized training and completely understand what it is like to juggle work, being a mom, and wanting to improve yourself in the goals you set. I was completely intimidated by her all her accolades at first but Amy is so down to earth and someone I can proudly call a friend. She seems to know exactly when to give me a call and offer the support I need to get me out the door to swim, bike or run, especially when life is telling me to put on my pj’s and sit on the couch! Since I started training with Amy, I have lost over 10 lbs. and have improved my performance in all three disciplines. I am a stronger biker, runner and swimmer, something I didn’t think was possible. She is able to craft a schedule around my crazy life that allows me to improve in all areas. I am now planning on completing my 5th half iron distance race next summer! What ever your goals are, Amy can help you get there!
Under Amy’s coaching, my technique and speed has dramatically improved. In the summer of 2016 I finished at the top of my age group in 5 triathlons and 4 open water swim events. In the winter it is important to break down the swim stroke and re-learn technique
As a longtime (30 years) runner I turned to Triathlon a little late, when was 53, but had one serious problem, I could not swim! I began training with Amy, and six weeks later I was able to compete in a small Sprint! Since then, I have competed in many Triathlons/Duathlons and have competed in several 1/2 Ironman events, with my first being 6 hours 10 minutes and two years later, working with Amy, we reduced that to 5:35. Amy will manage every aspect of your training and will integrate it into your life. If you want to succeed in Triathlon, engage Amy in your training.
Four years ago, nearing the age of 50, I came to a cross road in my life. I was already a 5K runner for nearly 13 years and was cycling to recover from an ankle injury I incurred during an Iraq deployment in 2009, but was looking for something more challenging and inspirational that would improve my physical and mental well-being. There shortly after returning from Irag, I began swimming under the guidance of Coach Amy Rice. With Amy’s great coaching, both in the pool and open water, I twice successfully completed the Narragansett Save the Bay Swim. In addition to Amy’s swim clinics, her bike/run brick clinics have helped me improve my triathlon race times. Two years ago, my last race of the year was a sprint distance race in Narragansett – I placed 1st in my age group! And last year I finish the 2016 Timberman Half Ironman under six hours! With Amy’s coaching, I’m stepping up my training this off season to hopefully PR at the Lake Placid Half Ironman on September 10th. I have met a lot of wonderful people in the triathlon community and am truly blessed to be a triathlete
I have trained with Amy for the past 3 years, either as my coach or instructor. I have taken wind trainer classes, swim lessons, weight lifting sessions, bike riding instructions, track session all with Amy. Amy is a talented coach who has helped me in all aspects of my training, both physically and mentally. Amy is a great motivator who has helped me go beyond my limits.
After only one swimming clinic with Amy Rice, can feel the difference with leading with my hips and not my shoulders – thank you! Can’t wait to see the videos and looking forward to becoming a more efficient (and hopefully faster) swimmer.

I’ve been participating in Amy’s swim clinics for some time. She has taught me to be more efficient and because of it I’ve become a stronger swimmer. I’m constantly learning from her. She clearly has a passion and love for what she does. It shows in her training. Whatever your fitness level or experience she can help.
I would highly recommend her services. Thanks Coach for giving me the skills and tools to increase my confidence.
I have been training with Amy since February of 2019. As a runner experiencing overuse injuries, my original intent was to cross-train to prevent injury. Amy embraced this and we met to discuss my goals. Amy set up a training plan for me that fit what we discussed. Since Amy is a world class triathlete, she is able to coach athletes in running, swimming, and cycling. My workouts each week include elements of all three. She also helped with nutrition during my workouts and the results for me have been significant. I participated in my first sprint triathlon in September of 2019 and qualified for nationals.
2019 was an awesome racing season for me. I routinely placed in the top 3 in my age group and I experienced PRs in more than one race, including the Ocean State Half marathon. When I first met Amy, my best time for a half marathon was 2 hours 2 minutes and 12 seconds. In the Ocean State Half Marathon, in October of 2019, I finished in 1 hour, 50 minutes, and 44 seconds, second in my age group, just two weeks after placing first in my age group in the Newport Half Marathon.
Amy has helped me develop as an endurance athlete. She has been there for me in the ups and downs of training and just life in general. She is open to training athletes of all ages, from teenagers, to young adults in their 20’s and 30’s, to athletes in their 80’s. She works with athletes to establish meaningful goals and is supportive both emotionally and in her physical presence. She has made a world of difference in my life.
Amy Rice is an exceptional trainer. She has a wealth of experience, knowledge and qualifications, but she has a unique gift to motivate and really focus on the individual. She guides them by using organized flexible plans and frequent communication and follow through.
She has motivated me to achieve goals well beyond my expectations. Coming from this NASM certified trainer, I can say with confidence whatever your goal may be, getting healthy, or training for a specific purpose, she will get you there!
